I’ve recently become addicted again to chatting. I’ve discovered several chatsites and I admit, it can be really addictive. For one, you can be anyone you want to be. How will they know anyway, they can’t see you?
Still, I tried to be as cautious as possible. Never disclosing my name or my address or any contact details – particularly FB.
Of course, there are exceptions. I have come across several chatters that are now my friends in FB – who I haven’t met personally – but I consider my friend.
I noticed that whenever I get to meet new chatters, I’ve always been asked ASL (age, sex & location). Granted I am in a different country, I often tell them the place where I am currently. Then eventually disclose where I am originally. Both places raise a red flag among chatters but in the end, if they don’t want to talk to me… so do I.
Is it really important to find out details even as simple as ASL? Of course, you want to be sure you’re not talking to a minor but still, how can you be sure?
Chat nowadays, had become a venue for perverts of all ages. Not everyone that comes in the chat room are horny or looking for one. Still, you cant control who comes in and logs in a chatroom. You can only control how you would interact with them. Firmness and consistency are the keys.
What’s your ASL?
