What I do not like in Tagalog Romance Pocketbooks

Don’t get me wrong.. I love reading and I intend to do it as often as possible. But I also like writing, and I’m trying so hard to keep my blogs updated… not all of them though.

And when i say addicted, i really mean, addicted.

Ganun naman ako pag me bagong libro akong kinahuhumalingan. Di ako kontento hangga’t di ko natatapos. Pero dahil Tagalog sya, mabilis kong basahin.

What I do not like in Tagalog Romance Pocketbooks:

1.  Puro magaganda at gwapo ang characters. Wala bang not-so kagandahan at not-so kagwapuhan.

2.  Puro mayayaman – babae man or lalaki. Kaka! Mahirap humanap ng ganung lalaki noh! And I’m sure… me mga asawa or girlfriend/boyfriend ng nakapila sa mga taong ‘to. Ouch!

3.  Laging me third party and selosan scenes. hahaha! Sige na. Kahit gwapo at maganda, insecure pa rin.

4.  Pakipot talaga ang mga babae. Merong ganun!

5.  Di man lahat, pero merong mga Sex without Marriage theme. This may not be controversial at tinitiyak kong marami ng babae at lalaki ang na-engage sa Premarital sex. I may sound like a hypocrite or I maybe a hypocrite pero kelangan ba talaga ipangalandakan ‘to?

6.  Me Revenge Mode… hahaha! Vengeance is a meal best served cold… ganun daw!

7.  In the end, sila pa rin ang magkakatuluyan. Everyone loves happy ending. Meaning the story is very predictable. Fine. Sabi nyo eh!

Honestly, I find Tagalog Romance novels entertaining. But is it something that I would recommend? I would but with hesitation.

There are a lot of pocketbooks out there that are worth reading but you can definitely see similarities in the stories, no matter who the author is. For now, as long as I am entertained and I am still hooked to it, I’ll read it till it grows out of me and let it be. 🙂
